The Only Post I Will Make About The Olympics

My mother asked me to record stuff from the Winter Olympics this weekend so she can watch it while she's here. Which I am quite happy to do, but, doggone it, now my TiVo is going to think I give a shit about ice skating. It still thinks I have an obsession with The Weather Channel from the time my dad came to visit.

  1. Heh. I often get the same sort of thing with amazon. Ever since I bought some cookery books from US people's wishlists, amazon.com has been sending me messages about the latest kitchen goods. Because yes, I'm clearly just waiting for the right moment to have a food mixer shipped over from the US...

    Sleep well today! :-)

  2. You can tell Amazon to ignore particular purchases if you want, although it can often be more entertaining not to. :)

(I find that whatever sort of thing I just bought, it assumes that I want lots more of it. Even if it's the sort of thing you only need one of. Silly algorithm.)

And I can sleep again in -- *checks watch* -- a little under six hours!

  3. In response to your post hahahahaha. Dad if you read this, hope you are feeling better and I am laughing at you for the weather channel thing.
As far as the Olympics well Aaron and I did spend some quality time last night watching the Olympics together. He really enjoyed watching people repeatedly wipe each other out during the short track speed skating competition. But I had to explain to him that it wasn't actually funny to have your dreams of Olympic success crushed.

  4. Is Dad not feeling well? Get well soon, Dad! You know I tease about your TV-viewing habits with love. :)

And I think small boys are supposed to have a cruel sense of humor. :)

  5. Thanks. Just some bad headaches(Kathy gave them to me). I was just reading Kathy`s post to Janice and she thought the Weather Channel thing was hilarious. I had actually forgotten about that. I don`t have that kind of TV technology so I didn`t know. Haha

  7. There was that night I threw a New Year's Eve party in my parents' basement for some of my college friends. When I ventured upstairs for more refreshments, I noticed that my parents were watching The Weather Channel (not even Dick Clark).
