Yesterday I was reading a discussion about shift work that said that being awake for 20 hours is equivalent to a blood alcohol level of at least .10, in terms of impairment. All I can say is, I'm glad I'm not going to be driving home in the morning.
Also, I really need to get a "do not disturb" sign for my front door.

Do NOT Disturb
ReplyDeleteOwner is Armed and Dangerous
Cats are too.
I was going to say that I'm not actually armed, but then I remembered Doomwrench. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, I've never seen that sort of comparison before. I suspect that one of those ways of becoming impaired is more fun than the other. I know you said the other day that this was going to be a tough weekend with changing shifts; i hope that you'll be able to rest when you do get off.
ReplyDeleteSleep deprivation can be kind of fun if you do it under the right conditions. But working all night so does not qualify. :)
ReplyDeleteWith luck, I'll at least get a good day's sleep tomorrow, although come Monday I'm only going to be able to sleep for 4 hours or so, so that I'll have a chance of sleeping Monday night in order to get up for my oral surgery on Tuesday morning.
The life of a shift worker, it is complicated.
