Why I Resent the British
It seems that the BBC is going to be showing new Farscape episodes at the rate of two a week, starting at the end of this month. Can I just say "Aaargh"? I mean, I'm sure this is great for British Farscape fans, but it's driving me crazy! The UK has consistently been ahead of us on episodes since the hiatus, and the fact that it was pre-empted there last week only serves to put them half a week ahead of us instead of a week and a half. Which means that large numbers of people have seen episodes that I have not. And these people frequently post to the internet. The result is that I'm having a very, very hard time not reading spoilers, both in the sense that I have to vigilant about coming across them accidentally and in the sense that I sometimes have to physically restrain myself from peeking. The thing is, I know that I enoy a show better -- far better -- when I don't know what's going to happen, but I have this whole problem with delayed gratification (something I may well have mentioned here before). I want to know what happens next, dammit, and I want it now!
Sigh. Well, at least I can console myself with the fact that soon those doggoned Brits will be out of new Farscape (sadly, perhaps forever), while I still have more episodes to savor. I don't really think that's helping very much, though...
