My Pretty Kitty

OK, because several people have asked me elsewhere why there were no pictures of birthday boy Vir (and didn't seem to be too impressed by "because I don't have a camera" as an answer), I broke down and took a shot of him with the camera on my phone. Have I mentioned lately how much I hate mobile phones and their clunky interfaces and the way they insist on having so many bells and whistles (like, say, cameras) that they're hard to use for their intended purpose as a phone? Well, I guess I have now. And, as your reward for reading through that mini-rant, you get cat pictures!

Here's the one I took today. Apologies for the quality. You know... phone.

For comparison's sake, here he is at two and a half weeks:

And at about six weeks:

And at about six months:

Isn't cell division amazing?

I agree with you about the mobile-phone thing. Probably one reason why I don't have one.

  2. I wouldn't have one if my mother hadn't put me on her calling plan and sent me one. Because apparently she can't sleep at night if I don't have a mobile phone for emergencies or something. *rolls eyes* Mostly it sits in the bottom of my purse, turned off.

  3. But, hey, it lets you take pictures of your cat without either having a camera, or buying one for that express purpose. :)

  4. Aww, he's beautiful! What a cute face and lovely eyes! And he has a perfect tabby M on his forehead. :-)

  5. RSR: True! Although if I'm going to be taking pictures, I'd like to have an actual digital camera to do it with. It's just been too far down the list of things I want to spend my cash on.

Nico: He's prettier than he looks in that somewhat murky picture, too. He really does have the most striking tabby-stripes, especially on his legs.

  6. I'm gonna hafta use that "cell division" line some day. Preferably on my kids.

And wow, those photos are cute. :)

  7. It probably says something about me that "Isn't cell division amazing?" really is one of my main reactions when watching something grow.

I'm not sure my cat can beat your kids in the cuteness stakes, but he might manage a solid second place. :)

  8. Happy birthday, Vir! *scritches*

I love that six-weeks photo. He looks so determined.

  9. Oh, is that what that expression is? :)

I think that was actually the first time he was ever really allowed out, so he had a whole new world to explore at that point, and perhaps was pretty determined to get to it.

And he still climbs up on my computer desk and puts his damned feet on my keyboard. :)

  10. Maybe I should get a cat and call him Londo?
Nah, my life style cannot accomodate pets.

  11. I've met someone online who had a cat called Londo. Personally, I think that's kind of asking for trouble. :)

  12. Yo folks, Vir is my grandcat(among a few others). As I proudly type this.

  13. Hmmm, maybe Garibaldi then...

  14. That'd have to be one of those hairless cats. :)
