Missing Episodes, Missing Comments

I just tried to respond to a comment on one of the previous blog entries and got an error message. "Cannot connect to the database at this time" or something. I've been noticing various problems with Enetation; the service seemed to be down completely for some time last night. (If the commenting system is ever down and you're absolutely desperate to tell me something, of course, you can always send me e-mail.)

Anyway, my fellow Who fan, John Hall, had a comment about the missing Doctor Who episodes. Fortunately, since this is my blog (Yes, mine, all mine! Bwahahaha!) I don't gotta use the comments, I can talk about stuff right here. So, in response to said comment, yup, you're absolutely right, John, the BBC did wipe and reuse the videotapes. They also did have film prints, but they burned those. (Wince.) I found a website with a good explanation of how and why this happened, along with a complete listing of which episodes are missing. It's a depressingly long list...
