Still More Doctor Who Stuff

Since I don't seem to have anything else to post about these days, have some more Doctor Who links:

Dressing Doctor Who: An interview with Matt Smith, costume designer Ray Holman and producer Piers Wenger, with more than you probably ever wanted to know about the 11th Doctor's costume.

Doctor Who - Inside the New TARDIS: Pictures of the new TARDIS interior. (Don't look if you want to be surprised!) It's going to take some getting used to, but it's certainly interesting.

Doctor Who Series 5 Clip: A minute and a half clip from an upcoming episode titled, I believe, "Vampires of Venice." Looks promising!

  1. I've been carefully avoiding trailers to avoid any spoilers, but they slipped one into the radio music programme that I was listening to this morning. Fortunately it didn't give anything away, but *I did discover what a gorgeous Scottish accent the new assistant has. (At least, I assume that it was the new assistant.)

  2. I haven't found the trailers too spoilery, but, of course, your spoiler mileage may vary. They do give away some of the villains that will be back, at least. :)

And, yep, the one with the Scottish accent is the new companion.

  3. The trouble is that one can only find out whether the trailers are too spoilery by watching them. I decided to err on the side of caution.

  4. I am not sold on the 11th Doctor yet. Need some positive input. I NEED INPUT,INPUT,INPUT!

  5. Speaking of accents, it's interesting that the Italian vampiresses (?) call him signor but speak with English accents. :)

They go on and on about these phantasmagoric boots of his (and don't bother showing us a picture) but then don't mention if he wears socks with them.

  6. The TARDIS is translating their accents. Clearly.

And maybe the socks are a spoiler. :)

  7. "Speaking of accents, it's interesting that the Italian vampiresses (?) call him signor but speak with English accents."

Probably wise. English actresses trying to do Italian accents could easily sound comical rather than authentic.

So those responsible for the programme have evidently noticed that vampires are currently the in thing.

Better than having English actors/actresses trying to do New York City accents which sound awful. Oh, wait. They've already done that. :)

  9. The TARDIS is translating their accents. Clearly.

Or, in one case in last night's episode, not at all clearly. :)
