Who Interview

I've just been told that the interview I did with the authors of The Greatest Show in the Galaxy: The Discerning Fan's Guide to Doctor Who for Kaleidotrope a while back is now available from Marc Schuster, one of the authors. The easiest way to read it, should you be interested in such a thing, is to click on the "fullscreen" button on the left. They've added some fun pictures to it, too!

  1. That's very cool! I really happy with the results of your interview in Kaleidotrope, and I'm glad to see it live on. The color photos are a nice touch.

  2. It was fun to do, so thanks for suggesting it and setting it up!

  3. So, which one is your favorite Doctor?

  4. Colin Baker, isn't it? ;)

  5. I'd say Number Four. Or Five. Or Seven. Or Eight. Or Nine. Or... Oh, hell. To quote the Brigadier: "Wonderful chap, all of them!"

Even Colin Baker has really grown on me over the years. :)

  6. Well worth reading, even if the technology made that difficult. (There seemed to be a choice obly of too small or too large text.) But as far as I could see, you haven't been given a credit. :(

  7. Schuster suggested the fullscreen reading, and I found that worked very nicely for me. But maybe you have a bigger monitor than I do.

And I'm credited at the bottom of the first page.

  8. And it has very readably sized text. :)

  9. Rereading what I wrote, it comes across as snarkier than I intended. So I ought to add that the book's two authors come across as being very sound when it comes to "Doctor Who". :)

  10. I didn't think you were too snarky. It is kind of an odd interface.

As for the authors, well, some of the ideas they expressed in the book I agreed with, and some I really didn't but they definitely know their subject well enough to write about it. :)

  11. Marc Schuster had a neat cartoon in issue #3 of Kaleidotrope, and he'd listed the Doctor Who book among his credits. Naturally enough I thought, "Who do I know who's a discerning fan of that series...?" I'd already convinced Betty to write what I think is a really great essay on the show -- I know it's certainly helped me get more into old-school Who -- and it seemed like a natural fit. I think the interview turned out really well, and I'm glad to see it get read by more people.

  12. "Who do I know who's a discerning fan of that series...?"

    Aww, that's flattering. :)

I know it's certainly helped me get more into old-school Who

    Mission accomplished! :)
