You Know You've Gotten Too Used To Having An iPod When...

...you glance at your car radio, fully expecting to be presented with the title and artist of whatever's currently playing and find yourself utterly surprised when that information is not forthcoming.

  1. This actually does happen for some of the bigger stations in my parents' car. Usually it's just the name of the station, or the genre of music they play, but sometimes I've seen song titles. I'm not sure how exactly it works (this isn't their car with satellite radio), but I doubt it's more complicated than radio stations providing information to a central source.

I'd be happy if they'd just say the names of the songs they play at some point.

  2. It certainly doesn't happen on my little, cheap, factory-installed-in-1999 radio. There wouldn't even be anywhere for them to display. :)

  3. I know...we broke down and got a cd player with scrolling text on it just from that! I was dissapointed to know that the text on the iPod deosn't show up when we play it through the radio tho...

  4. Yeah, it's a pain trying to look at the iPod while you're driving. Not to mention potentially dangerous.
