New Who Trailer!

It starts out a lot like the last one, but then there is cool new stuff:

  1. At this point, as long as it's better than the new Torchwood, I'll be happy.

  2. I haven't been watching that. I don't get Starz, and while I keep meaning to go and find it on the internet somewhere, I just haven't found the motivation, somehow. Possibly because I know there's no possible way it can be anything but downhill after Children of Earth. I'll probably catch it on DVD, though. It's got to be out on DVD soon, right?

Anyway, thanks for helping to keep my expectations low. I imagine that will be useful. :)

  3. Five episodes in, the worst part is that it's only half over. Not to spoil the plot or anything, but I feel like it started...not strongly, perhaps, but interestingly at least. The basic premise is very intriguing (if, perhaps, slightly borrowed), but they've done very little with it. This latest episode featured some of the worst writing and character development the show has ever done. (And I say that as someone who's usually a big fan of Jane Espenson's writing...and who's seen "Cyberwoman.") At this point, I'm really not sure I can get through another five episodes.

    How's that for lowering expectations?

  4. I'll sum up my opinion of the fifth episode like I did over Twitter:

"I'm watching Torchwood. My parents are watching a movie starring Chevy Chase as a talking dog. I think they've made the better choice."

  5. Oh, dear. That's pretty effectively expectation-lowering! But at least it makes me laugh. :)
