Well actually the first outfit was going to take Collin Bakers to its logical conclusion, but the new actor decided a red nose and oversized shoes were too much. The shoes also caused problems when he ran down a hill and caused an avalance. The second outfit was a no-go because the combination of a purple tuxedo and 20 foot scarf just didn't work for the viewers.
Really? I like it. He looks like a young chemistry professor. And being a scientist, I must admit that that sort of does it for me. :) I have a thing for bow ties.
I'm glad they're going back to him being the Doctor with no sense of style :)...
Lots of people seem to like it. Me, I don't hate it or anything, it's just not doing much for me. Again, I think I'd actually rather see a slightly odder look. (Maybe the problem is that a "dorky scientist" sort of look seems perfectly normal and boring to me. ;)) My ultimate feelsings really will depend a lot on how well he carries it off, though, I'm sure.
Well, at least it's no multi-color patchwork coat...
ReplyDeleteThere is that. :)
ReplyDelete"Look! Tweed! He's not really only 12 years old!"
ReplyDeleteThat may well be the idea, yes. :)

ReplyDeleteEh, it's been done.
ReplyDeleteDEAR GOD MY EYES
ReplyDeleteGee, and there I was thinking that his companion looked about 12 years old. The new Doctor must be a senior in high school, at least. ;)
ReplyDeleteThen again, what he's wearing in one episode is not necessarily his new "outfit."
ReplyDeleteCaptain C: You're just getting old, is what it is. Everybody starts looking young to you after a while. ;)
ReplyDeleteFred: True, but the man isn't exactly notorious for his frequent changes of clothes. (Well, OK, in his third incarnation, maybe.)
Really? I like it.
