Just trying to figure out the time zone conversions make my head hurt.

It may be a while before I get around to reading those, especially as I'm thinking about picking up the rest of the Peter Wimsey books that I don't have and reading them in order first. But if you remind me at an appropriate point, sure, you can borrow 'em.Bettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06403255764384760662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432116.post-33789979427716629982008-04-08T05:41:00.000-06:002008-04-08T05:41:00.000-06:00I have never understood why airlines will make you...I have never understood why airlines will make you take off at night, when you should be going to bed, and land in early morning. Because of some wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff, this happens going east to England and west to Australia (although it is kinda neat to watch the sun rise in Hawaii and then again in Australia).

By the way, may I borrow the first two books on that list when you've read them?Captain Chlorophyllhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16160624482609256786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432116.post-52086948625420676662008-04-07T17:20:00.000-06:002008-04-07T17:20:00.000-06:00The eleven-hour flight to Ireland was bad enough, ...The eleven-hour flight to Ireland was bad enough, and I was nine years younger then... I am really, really dreading this flight, I have to say. Especially as I find it just about impossible to fall asleep on airplanes. (People keep recommending drugs, but I strongly suspect that a sleeping pill would just leave me awake, but groggy and miserable.)Bettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06403255764384760662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432116.post-22125173377913674512008-04-07T17:10:00.000-06:002008-04-07T17:10:00.000-06:00"I'm figuring on doing a lot of reading on planes ..."I'm figuring on doing a lot of reading on planes in the near future."

Good plan -- my employer does some business in Australia, and the folks that get sent to do said business tell me that's a challengingly long haul (some even say you should train fer it like a marathon -- YMMV, of course, of course [grin]...)Andrew Ironwoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02762705024248590935noreply@blogger.com
